Maps, books, prints and other materials may be ordered by telephone or via email. You may also make an appointment to see any item in person. I participate in several antique book and map shows each year and you may purchase from me in person at these venues.
Payment may be in U.S. dollars by check, bank transfer or credit card (VISA, MASTERCARD). Your map will be mailed once payment is received in full and funds have cleared. The price of a standard size map or other work includes packaging and handling. Fragile items, antique atlases, wall maps or maps larger than approximately 20 x 24 inches require special packaging and fees for this packaging will be quoted individually and also charged to buyer. Postage by U.S. Mail or commercial carrier is charged to buyer at cost.
General Return Policy
A return may only be made if the item does not conform to the published description and condition. Refunds will be given if the returned item is in the same condition as it was when sent from Original Antique Maps to purchaser. Returns must be made within seven (7) days of receipt. A return requested after this period expires will not be honored. An exception for a longer return period may be offered on select items but must be negotiated and in writing before an order is placed. Returns must be packed and shippped securely by purchaser, signature required and received by Original Antique Maps in undamaged, original condition in order to satisfy the terms of refund. We do not accept returns on damaged items. We do not refund original charges to buyer for shipping and handling.
Damaged Returns
If an item you receive was damaged in transit to the buyer, then the buyer is responsible for notifying Original Antique Maps immediately upon receipt by telephone and email. You are responsible for documenting the damage to the packaging and to the map or item and via email sending photographs etc. to Original Antique Maps within seven (7) days of receipt to be eligible for a remedy. You are required to return the item to Original Antique Maps for review and an insurance claim will be filed for the purchase price.
International sales, including questions regarding items, personal inspection by an agent or representative and shipping will be handled on a case by case basis.
Requests for a price quote on listed materials or materials viewed at a show will be answered in writing and the price quote is good for five (5) business days.
